I went here first time spent $36.37 an ordered 3 specials. The special for that nite was a 1/2 slab of baby back ribs,slaw,fries. The taste was mediocre the whole meal was cold. Slaw had no real flavor hardly any dressing. Ribs were not really moist. The sauces on the tables were ok flavor wise. Would I go back here? For the money I paid and the food I tasted....no. When I told the fella that the food was cold all he said was "oh sorry".....hmmm maybe I went on a night when the chef wasn't up to par but Im not going to spend my hard earned money here anymore.

Delicious food. Their chili is wonderful! It is a smaller place, so there isn't a lot of seating. They accept credit cards, but there is a 3% charge for using it.

I was looking for this place this morning online, as I used to live in Great Falls in '06, and was trying to remember the name. We used to get the cowboy cocktail all the time. I highly recommend it. BBQ meat, slaw, and beans layered in a cup. Makes a hell of a lunch. I was thinking of recreating it, and wanted to make sure I had the source right. Anyway, great place, stop by if you're in the Grand Funk.

Simple BBQ joint. Good food, light smoke flavor. Tender and yummy. Good menu choices and great fried okra for Montana. Service was good. Great place for lunch or a light dinner.

It is the business. Great food great prices! Best I've had in MT. It's a small place that's located with doctor's offices (hey I didn't judge it, I just ate there). The owners are from Texas!!!

After reading the review I tried Big Mouth. It is a small place with maybe 6 tables. 3 were taken and 3 were dirty. The food took a long time to come out. The meat was cold and nothing had much flavor. The only plus was the fried mac n cheese. I will not go back.

Went in on recommendations from others that this is the ONLY BBQ restaurant in town...and that it is really good. We were not disappointed. We fed the family with the Big Meal Deal (2lbs. of meat and 2 sides plus bread) and had leftovers to bring home. Good selection of beverages including a few local microbrews and select Coke products from Mexico (i.e. made with real sugar). We were in late so they were sold out of the sliced brisket (as mentioned in another review) so we will definitely be back earlier and will probably go for lunch sometime to try the BBQ Chili and BBQ Salad.

I went to Great Falls, MT to visit a friend for a few days. On the afternoon of the first day I fell hungry and looked for a restaurant where I could find a meal that was relatively paleo. Usually, in these smaller cities, I end up destroying a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store and washing it down with a couple pieces of fruit. But that day I got lucky and found Big Mouth BBQ. I wasn't expecting much in the first place and the rather plain looking exterior didn't change my mind. The interior is a different story altogether. It's obviously the product of a thoughtful person who is very interested in BBQ. There's an eclectic aesthetic revolving around Texas and John Wayne. There's a food challenge - which I will conquer on my next visit - along with mason jar drinks, and a unique plating style. The service was friendly and casual and the employees appeared to like their jobs, which is always important in a restaurant for reasons I will not go into here. The Q itself is seasoned properly and has a good smoke to it. The cole slaw was solid and the sweet potato fries were great. They have a variety of BBQ sauces at the table to choose from and they are all homemade and distinct. The ribs were tender and juicy and the pulled pork was fatty, smoky, and salty - just the way I like it. My only complaint about the food was that the shredded brisket was a little dry. It's offered at a lower price than the sliced brisket so I figure it's the day olds or the drier portion of the cut. The price is surprisingly low too. I never expect a big honkin' plate of meat for less than $20 and I usually pay more, but I ordered extra meat and a drink and I was well under that. I would definitely recommend!

Good flavor, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. portions were , prices fair. The little corn bread muffin was sweet and moist, just the way i like it. They charge extra for debit and credit cards so bring cash or write a local check.

Terrible bbq. Im not a bbq expert but as a chef know my food. Got the 2 meat sampler with shrimp. The brisket came out stone cold. Shrimp the breading on it is just terrible doesnt even cover half the shrimp. You can tell that the food is made by cooks that just dont care. Saw the awards on the wall n what not but definetly nothing worthy of winning an award.

First time here today for lunch for my staff. We ordered food to take back to work and needed help 1. Order enough food 2. Not spend a million bucks. The lady that helped us was GREAT! She was super friendly, helpful and patient even though she was busy! She had a room full of guest at full tables and still remained calm while I took my time trying to order properly. The food was good but not great and the portions were kind of small. I would eat here again for lunch or dinner but not to feed a lot of people. The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is because she forgot out bread and corn bread.

Simply amazing! No wonder the brisket was sold out by 6:30PM. Lots of Texas decor, follow your nose to smell of smoking meat.
